Tumoriffic!: 3/14/12: A Tumoriffic Thought

I originally started blogging to tell the story of my really crazy personal health adventures, which, strangely, I found quite funny. The precursor to my health stories here are in the collection of e-mails to my friends between 2004-2007. (See Tumoriffic.org) I have continued the saga in this blog.

I also have a snarky medical advice blog that I update far too infrequently called, Dr. Tumoriffic's Inappropriate Guide to Navigating the Medical System at http://drtumoriffic.blogspot.com/.

By the way, the picture in my profile is an okapi. An okapi is an extremely rare creature with a head like a giraffe and a body that looks like a horse in front and a zebra in the back. There is a saying in medicine, "when you hear hoofbeats, don't look for zebras." This means, don't look for an exotic diagnosis (a zebra) when an ordinary one (a horse) can explain the problem. However, I have such a weird medical history, it's not horse, it's not even a zebra. It's an okapi.
