A Hot Date!

At about 8 o'clock tonight, I got a call from the nurse. (Does she live at the hospital???) I got a date for surgery! August 19, baby! I'll get all dressed up in one of those hot johnnies with the open back, and it's gonna get real!

Been there and just got out - jammies are the same in Kentucky hospitals, you'd think someone would come up with a better jalopy. Well, good luck in the OR, hope your nurses are as cool as mine were. Since my hospital is run by the Catholic church, I got an inspirational message twice a day to boot...it actually wasn't so bad. God bless you and your amazing surgeons Tumoriffic Tom!

I originally started blogging to tell the story of my really crazy personal health adventures, which, strangely, I found quite funny. By the way, the picture in my profile is an okapi. An okapi is an extremely rare creature with a head like a giraffe and a body that looks like a horse in front and a zebra in the back. There is a saying in medicine, "when you hear hoofbeats, don't look for zebras." This means, don't look for an exotic diagnosis (a zebra) when an ordinary one (a horse) can explain the problem. However, I have such a weird medical history, it's not horse, it's not even a zebra. It's an okapi.
